🧠 What is Matter?

Matter is an open smart home standard designed to make IoT devices work across ecosystems without vendor lock-in.

It’s backed by the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) — with big names like:

• Apple
• Google
• Amazon
• Samsung

The idea:

Buy a Matter device → it works locally with any compatible platform.

No cloud dependency required.

🏗 What Problem Is It Solving?

Before Matter:

• Zigbee → needs Zigbee hub
• Z-Wave → needs Z-Wave hub
• Tapo → TP-Link cloud or local reverse-engineered integration
• HomeKit → Apple-only ecosystem
• Alexa skills → cloud-to-cloud
• Google Home → more cloud-to-cloud
